How solving Sudoku can help you solve your own pain.

How solving Sudoku can help you solve your own pain.

I recently got into the brain challenging game, Sudoku.

For those who have never played, it is a number-placement puzzle with the objective to fill the 9 x 9 grid with digits from 1 to 9.  Each row, column and subgrid can only contain digits 1 to 9.

And for those who have never played, it is tough when you first start!  It definitely uses brain cells that have become extinct as we age.

What I have found to be my ‘go-to’ strategy is to work to fill the outside grids first, then work my way in.  In other words, I solve the ‘4 corners’ to then solve the rest of the puzzle.

This is similar to how we approach solving many of your pain problems!

One of our strategies is to make you sure your ‘4 corners’ engage and work as efficient as possible.

In the human body, the ‘4 corners’ are your gluteal muscles (right and left) and your scapula muscles (right and left).

When we get out of sequence with symmetry with the ‘4 corners’, then our body has to compensate to assist in keeping us upright and with time, this tug-of-war effect ultimately leads to a breakdown — such as neck pain, shoulder blade pain, back pain, hip pain and even rotator cuff dysfunction.

If you or a friend are constantly in pain but not making gains, then testing and fixing your ‘4 corners’ is a strategy we recommend.

Wouldn’t you want to be able to solve your own Sudoku puzzle?  We can help.
