Can you be like a Swedish Fire Log?

When my children hear I am making a fire, they go directly to asking for a s’more.  Whatever happened to just wanting to sit by the fire?!

To create a fire more simple fire for the sake of my girls, I started creating a Swedish Fire Log.

A Swedish Fire Log is a type of campfire using just a single log.  It was developed by the Swedish Army in the 1600s during the Thirty Years War.

If you haven’t heard of this type of campfire, certainly do yourself a favor and search for an image of so you can improve efficiency of your fire during your next marshmallow roasting event.

What makes a Swedish Fire Log better? Here are the facts:

  • It has a quick, usable flame.  The architecture of the fire creates a concentrated flame for more efficient cooking.
  • It can be used on wet or cold ground.  The top and middle of the log is what burns and not the bottom making it easy to create a fire even on cold, wet ground.
  • It is self-sufficient.  The burn is from the top down and once lit, the construction allows it to not have to be tended hardly at all.
  • It uses 1 single log to make a fire.
  • Overall, Swedish Fire Log allows you to get more with less.

Our human body should work like a Swedish Fire Log.  We should be able to get up and move quick and use our legs/arms right away.  We should be able to work even with a cold or wet foundation.  And, we should be self-sufficient to keep going day in and day out.  We should be able to do more with less.

As many of you are reading the above paragraph, I bet you are thinking to yourself, “oh no, I am slowing down and this is the opposite direction I am going”

This does happen with aging and is a side effect of going around the sun many times.

But, can we stop tending a regular fire inefficiently and create ourself into a Swedish Fire Log?

I certainly think (and know) so!  There are certain areas of the human body that breaks down quicker as we age.  This is due to us being in an upright posture and able to walk on 2 legs.

This is why we created our 6 Green Zones.  This is a test of 6 movements of your body to examine the ability of you to work most efficient in our upright posture.

It finds what is wrong so we can create solutions.  Creating solutions allows you to have a more focused exercise plan to help you do more with less.

Wouldn’t you want to be able to get the same outcome with less self care?
